Dustin Poirier's lead leg took a beating at UFC on Fox 29, but he was still able to emerge with a fourth-round technical knockout win over Justin Gaethje in an entertaining main event.
“The Diamond” was shown leaving the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., on crutches as Fox Sports 1 interviewed Dana White on Saturday. All told, Poirier absorbed 50 significant leg strikes from his opponent in the lightweight bout.
“I've got nothing but respect for him,” Gaethje said. “He's going to be hurting for a very long time.”
The photo evidence provided by Poirier does nothing to disprove Gaethje's prediction. Late Sunday evening, the American Top Team product put his battered leg on full display in a series of social media photos.
“Here you savages go,” he wrote. “Y'all wanted to see the damage.”
